Putting the record STRAIGHT.

Please be aware that I have read no messages in the last 36 - 48 hours.

Once these boards were a daily visit for me. There were and still are some decent people on here, but sadly I feel things have changed for the worse. Now the Aggressive Know-It Alls (AKIA's) have come to the fore and woe betide anyone who has the temerity to hold an opposing view. I, for one, am tired of it, really tired of it. That's why I am taking a long, long break away from these boards, I am hoping if I stay away long enough, the urge to ever return will pass.

I seem to be a target for the AKIA's although if I live to be a 100 I will never know why it has become so personal. Let me tell you something that happened on these boards a while back.

There was a discussion on a thread about a boxing magazine that ran a feature on the 20 greatest Mexican fighters of all-time. Javier, one of the beta testers from Mexico, said what a pity, he could not read it as the magazine was not on sale in Mexico. I pm'd Javier and asked him to pm me his address and I would send him the magazine, which I did. It cost me about $15 and I told Javier if I was ever in Mexico I would expect a cervesa!!
If any of the AKIA's feel I am lying then pm Javier and ask him.

Why am I telling this? To say "look what a good guy I am"?
No because this is what I am really like, the real me. Some might think I'm soft but I don't belive that "kindness is weakness" bs. No one makes a mug of me though. No, I did it because that is what I think the internet and forums like this should be about; people helping each other, having a laugh, discussing things civilised, learning from others even if they have a polar opposite viewpoint to you. What it is NOT about is mouthing off and being rude and aggressive to someone who has an opposing view and using a forum to work out their personal issues. Keyboard warriors, people who are brave sitting behind a keyboard and saying things they would not have the guts to say to your face are common on the internet and now sadly they have made their way into this forum. Some of the AIKA's one here act like they own the board. This is happened, I believe, because we are pretty much self regulated and trusted to behave ourselves.

You would think with boxing being a minority sport and a game about boxing being such a niche product then the best way forward would be to stick together and try and get along wherever possible but it seems that the AKIA's want to divide.

About 2 weeks ago I found a bug to do with the fight record screen. And yet I hesitated to post it because I pretty much knew the heat I would get from the AKIA's (who do you think you are, coming on here and posting bugs and criticising our freaking game when you are pimping another game?). It pretty much writes itself. In the end I decided the potential hassle wasn't worth it and posted nothing. When things get to that stage it is time to go. When it gets petty and personal (eg go crawl into the woodwork, go and play your little game) then I want no part of it.

For the first time in years, www.ootpdevelopments.com, no longer sits in the My Favourites folder. A shame really as I felt, ideas-wise at least, I could have offered something.

No doubt the AKIA's will gloat, claim some kind of victory, call me a tosser, come up with some excuse. Whatever. Thankfully I won't be around to listen to it.

Sorry for going on a bit, I will take my copy of Title Bout and get lost now.

Adios.
