Whether we like it or not, the community has always been in favour of new features tacked on to the basic game infrastructure. We had the same debates about OOTP6 having 'abandoned' certain game forms, especially with initial teething problems. All the pre-release hype generated was about new things - maybe those of us more in favour of a stabilisation prior to expansion (in my cases, if OOTP2007 replaced the financial engine and redid player evaluation I'd be a happy man) need to make more of a noise before the game comes out, rather than after it.

I think Doug's on the right track here. For me, OOTP2006 is a huge improvement over 6.5 for the types of leagues I want to run. I certainly realize that isn't the case for everyone but I can only test the kind of things I enjoy and give suggestions on things I would like to see. I think that's all any of us can do.
