Waltwa, I don't think you should blame SI for problems in historical play. You should blame people like me who wanted a whole raft of fictional options, got them, and are now very happy with the game.
It's unfortunate that some folks feel left out, and in the long-run, obviously, the game should be all things to all men. As it is, it's people like myself that wanted the game built like it is. Your problem is with the emphasis that the community placed on new features, not SI's decision to listen to them.
