More than likely once the second patch is completed 2006 will be better. Some people may have a difficult time adjusting to the changes from 6.5 to 2006, but in the long run 2006 will be the way to go.

Also 6.5 won't be supported forever and I would guess the 2006 engine will be in place for awhile.
