I don't spend a lot of time looking at my minor league guys until there's an emergency call up, so I COULD forget about him until another guy is injured. Esepecially if he's one of the old guys that are only there for emergencies.
The second part I agree with. He could just sit there all year, which is just wrong. It needs to alert you that he's able to play again and time is up and he has to come off... just like it does when a DFA assignment has outlasted its time limit.
