W: Phil Marchildon 1-0
L: Marv Breuer 0-2
POG: Ferris Fain 3-5, R, RBI
Attendance: 20,981
Aside from the defensive lapses, this is how I want to play. Very aggressive, hitting and running, bouncing off the bases to force 2 scores on wild pitches. Marchildon could throw better, but he limited the Clips to only 1 extra base hit so I shouldn't complain too loudly.

44-year-old Guy Bush out duels young Warren Spahn. Spahn deserved better offensive and defensive support; his record won't reflect it, but he is showing signs of being a key member of the Braves rotation in the future.
