Maybe the runner was those outfielders that appear to be everywhere.
You know the guy, the LF that dives for a ball on the RF line... the 3B that dives for a hard shot up the middle... the baseball universe is full of speedsters.
But not quite fast enough though it would seem... otherwise they wouldn't have to dive.
