Tiger Fan History of Sports Replay feedback requested
For anyone following my dynasty I have a question.
Should I use fictional players with Eastside Hockey Manager to play out the NHL or should there be far less detail but some historical accuracy by just replaying the playoffs using WhatifSports.com?
I just can't decide which I would rather see so I am throwing it open to the readers for feedback.
I would love to see it be historically accurate but I have run some test games with WhatifSports and I am getting some awful results - such as scores of 15-20 goals for each team when I try and play a Montreal-Toronto 1917 playoff game. I could use a game like Pair-a-dice Hockey but I don't think I can keep up with all of the work required in rating the teams myself. Also playing out the games is much more time consuming with Pair-a-dice.
There is really no way to safely edit the EHM game file once I get a career started so if I go that route it will be completely fictional players (although the teams will be moderately accurate - at least as accurate as a 30 team NHL can be in the 1950's for example.) I figure college football and college hoops as well as the NBA and NFL will be dominated by fictional players (although in those games I can edit in real-life stars) so does it make any difference if I do the same with hockey?
Feedback and other suggestions are welcome.
Ideally I would love to see someone point me to a hockey game made by someone like Markus, Gary Gorski or Arlie Rahn that allows me to edit things the way I like. As much as I love Eastside Hockey Manager I just wish it could be customized or at least have the player names and ratings editable. Oh well, maybe someday.
