For the most part it takes a look at stats and age, they aren't random. Not sure what you are asking about multiple seasons.

Also, just to let you know that the game is not designed to reproduce EXACT replay stats from a previous season as games that are designed to do this are "stats" driven whereas OOTP is ratings driven.
