I just finished a season for my league. It has just a single major league and I turned off the playoffs thinking that the top team at the end of the season would get credit for the championship. When the season was finished in the history there was no champion. I was happy that the first patch gave the ability not to have playoffs but the game should designate the top team as the champion of the league. Granted this doesn't take in the possibilities of a tie. I would assume that the same tie breakers for divisional champions would be used.
