Schedule changes can only be done during the pre-season period; that's the only time when the changes input will stick. If your season is already underway or if it's after the pre-season period it's too late to get the changes registered for the current year. I did manage to go into the schedule editor and delete the all star game and was able to continue after I did that.

Play the game in windows, keep the 350 pg. game guide open as well. It will be easier to learn the game that way.
