I haven't analyzed the pros and cons of such a move, but my spontaneous reaction is that it wouldn't serve to diminish the reporting. What we'd likely see is a slurry of "yes, this is happening to me too" and "sorry if I overlooked this in the list, but..."
While people like yourselves, who are advocating using it, would use it and likely provide further definitive comments, those who
should use it wouldn't.
