So I played around with a contract and it looks like the easy way out was taken. Instead of it "Your proposed deal...The player would not..." it was changed to "owner."

Pretty disappointed with this as the issue, in my opinion, hasn't been solved. It was an easy change to "owner" instead of player.

I offer:
2011 Season: $4,350,000
2012 Season: $4,350,000
2013 Season: $2,350,000

It says that the owner doesn't like how it is structured. That is ridiculous! If a player is worth $4,350,000 for two years (the player is 32), he sure is worth $2,350,000 the third year. If anybody doesn't like how it is structured, it should be the player. Hell, I even through on a team option and the owner STILL doesn't like it. What was fixed...was NOT fixed.

So I change it a little...
2011 Season: $4,350,000
2012 Season: $4,350,000
2013 Season: $10,350,000

Of course the owner wouldn't like this deal, but again I leave the last contract year as a team option. Why would the owner not like this deal? You get him for two years guaranteed $4,350,000 and you just decline the third year. If it was a player option? I could understand the owner saying no.

It sure seems to me that this wasn't really fixed, just a word changed to make it look like it was fixed. I hope this issue gets a serious look for Patch #2 and isn't just "fixed" with a word change that doesn't really fix anything.
