I suppose if you really really wanted to do this, when expansion comes around, export the rosters of all your leagues, create a new universe with your old leagues (a) and your new leagues (b). Import your rosters for (a) and do whatever you need to with (b). Then your new universe would be a+b. Same thing later, you'd make a new one from (a+b) and create (c).
