WrightWing's Photos and Large Fictional Universes

I'm having a grand time simming 100 years into my 48-team ML with four levels of 48-team minors ... at any given moment, I've got ~6000 (offseason) to ~9000 (during the season) active players. (Edit: as I see as I'm dumping the universe in 1924, there are ~36,000 players in my universe. So, even now, I'd have to rename WW's entire set, copy it to another directory, rename them, move them back, and repeat the process again to give everyone a photo ... methinks I'm wasting my time. God knows how many players I'll have by 2005 ...)

While simming, I'm passing the time by hanging around the boards and renaming WrightWing's fantastic photo set to player_xxxx so my fictional universe will pick them up. With over 10,000 photos, there should be enough to handle my universe at any given moment. Right now, I'm simming 1923, and soon, I'll start renaming the 1910's ...

My question is, though, what happens to a photo when the player assigned to it retires? Will the photo "Player_1.jpg" ever be used again now that the guy has retired? If not, I'm gonna run out of photos before I catch up to my league.

Do I need to copy the photo into another directory and keep renaming them after all 10,000+ are done so I can be assured of having photos in the 21st century?
