Well, I enjoy it in every way I can.
Currently I have a career league going starting with the 1991 SF Giants in which I sim two weeks at a time.
I am also in an on-line league with the DET Tigers starting in 1964.
And I play out every game in a career league starting with the 2002 KC Royals.
Each one has its own flavor and I'm having a blast in all three. (Even though my royals suck as bad as they do in real life).
If you think the game is going too fast and don't enjoy the simming aspect, then play out every game and you should get a better feel for your team and the atmosphere of the league. However, if you're not having fun because it moves too slowly, then sim a couple of weeks at a time and review the box scores and stats that way. If you're bored playing a solo league, then an online league is absolutly the way to go. You can interact with other GMs in your league and it feels more like a "real" league (i.e. trades and free agent signings seem more competetive). And don't forget the oppourtunity to play with a fictional league with computer generated players, or playing a historical league with the Database import players.
Also, be sure and check out any number of the great mods available from this community as they really do add to the fun of the game.
