I agree, plan things ahead. Like when you create a universe. If you want to do something complex with multiple foreign leagues, Major League teams with varying number of affiliated minor leagues, and other such things it helps to sketch out your universe first before sitting down with the editor. Have an idea of what you want, draft it, and then get into the game and create it. OOTP6.5 spoiled us in league creation since you only had one league and all you had to decide was the number of teams and what you called them. This has a lot more depth and that requires more thinking on our part. Still I'm convinced that level of depth will lead to more rewarding gameplay.
