Behaving correctly, basically - but one small change could help.

If you select year X (let's say 2005) within the database import dialog, you have the choice of "keeping stats for selected year", or not. Obviously, it only makes sense to keep the stats if you intend to have the league start a year later. Once the setup has done the initial historical import, it takes you back to the "New Game" setup, where you can add minor leagues, amend rules/options etc. At this point, you have the opportunity to change the Start Year (if you amend before importing, it gets changed anyway).

Currently, this Start Year is defaulting to the year of import, which makes sense for the vast majority of historical league imports. However, until there are 2006 rosters available, some people will use Lahman to import an end-of-season 2005 roster - keeping the 2005 stats. For these users, a 2006 start is the most logical.

So, I'd suggest that IF the 'keep stats...' checkbox is checked, then the Game Start Year should default to Year of Import +1 ELSE Game Start Year = Year of Import.

Effectively, if you check the 'keep stats' option, you're importing an end-of-season roster and want the start year to increment by 1. If you don't check it, you're importing a start of year roster.
