Yup, the same one that was a top 10 prospect of ours for a couple of years prior to being dealt and became expendable after drafting Pennington.

Part of the business, the part BB has excelled at for years. That is the whole point of drafting college kids so that we can hopefully make useful, cheap ball players out of them in a short period of time so we don't have to overpay for guys like Payton. As for Swisher's value RIGHT NOW...what does that have to do with anything?? We are getting him at a discount...good for us...so should we be trying to balance that windfall by overpaying for Payton?? Of course not.

Kenny Lofton, Dave Roberts, Reed Johnson, Endy Chavez, Ryan Freel, Willy Mo Pena, Jeff DaVanon...heck, why not give Bocachica a try or bring up Charles Thomas??
