S. Sanchez had all the skills....could box and punch...great footwork....good jab...good hand speed and a solid chin.

He definitely beat very good competition (in his limted time at the top....because of his early death). But in that time made 9 successful title defenses Vs the likes of Danny Lopez (twice), Ruben Castillo, Juan LaPorte, not to mention an undefeated Wilfredo Gomez (who was moving up from JFW).

He beat a young Azumah Nelson via 15th rd TKO...in a great fight..

With all that said I myself have sometimes thought in his death his overall rating might be inflated some - Before winning his title he only fought maybe 3 or 4 guys that were any good at all -

His overall record is obvioulsy impressive at 44-1-1 (34Kos)...with his sole loss coming via Spit Dec earlier in his career.
