Why do they call it "pistol whipping" when it's actually a lot more like pistol clubbing or pistol smacking or even pistol bashing? Someone smacks a guy upside the head with, say, a .45 Colt M1911A1 and it's like bashing him with a two or three pound rock. Where's the "whip" action there? It's the wrong turn of phrase, and it's just not very descriptive.
