I think, in the forthcoming structure, some folks might want to try having "Triple-A Baseball" as a league (with the IL and AA--or IL and PCL--as its subleagues), with its parent league being "Major League Baseball" (with the NL and AL as its subleagues). If I am not mistaken, this would allow the respective champions of the "associated" AAA leagues to play each other in a Little World Series, as used to happen.
But I think I agree with you and LGO that, basically, the ideal structure would be to have no such thing as subleagues, but with a variety of optional ways in which leagues could be associated with each other, including shared rules on drafts and trades, all-star and championship games against each other, and so on.
