NBBL - Introduction/1901 Season

Thanks to ctorg, OOTP now has a database of common fictional players. I am using this database starting in 1901 and going on to the present

I will play most of my games as coach and GM of my team, so this should go relatively slow (as opposed to tcblcommish who is simming ahead fairly quickly, and who does not have all of my original players) but I will intend on posting updates by the game month. I also intend on keeping the history of the league using Cato's utility starting from the end of the first season.

I have a 24-team league taking random MLB teams and leaving others to the side. I intend to think of this league as 100% modern day with the settings, ballparks, etc all set to today's standards. Basically I am starting in 1901 for the full purpose of the database, and all numbers should be to 2002 standards.

I have control over the Montreal Expos, in the NL East along with Chicago, New York, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and Milwaukee.

The NL West includes Arizona, Colorado, San Francisco, Atlanta, Los Angeles and Houston.

The AL East includes Toronto, Baltimore, Boston, New York, Chicago, Detroit.

The AL West includes Cleveland (the one geographic quirk), Oakland, Kansas City, Seattle, Texas and Anaheim.

All teams have 40 man rosters, and were chosen through a standard-form draft (1-24, 1-24, 1-24). I picked 22nd in the draft.

I will try my best to focus on superstars emerging around the history of the league, and other happenings.

HOUSE RULES:
-- Talent-Only rating system (even for the draft)
-- Must keep the payroll OUT of the Top-10 in the league (no personal or league-wide salary cap)
-- I will have some trading restrictions, but no specific ones as of yet
-- That is all I have now, I will add more as I go along.

Next Update: Your 1901 Montreal Expos...
