If you think guys like Derek Jeter and Chipper Jones don't coast through the early part of spring training I'm not quite sure I could describe you without earning myself a warning. Yes I think the same problem would exist if the WBC were held in November. I would not try to shoehorn a tournament in then either.

Why do they have spring training at all then? Why do all major professional leagues have a period of time for acclimation? I would assume it's because they need it. Why do you think they have it?
