Here's another for Carl Vinciquerra out of Omaha, Nebraska. Stood 6' 1" weighed between 185 and 195 and fought between 1937 and 1941. Had an interesting career. Went 39-5-5 and was almost unbeatable in Omaha, suffering only one loss, his last, in his hometown. Carl beat a few names, lost to a few (Lem Franklin twice, at the end of his career, Johnny Paycheck, Tony Musto). Liked to jump on an opponent early. Caught Charlie Belanger with a left on the ear while the latter was leaning over the ropes talking to his manager, and knocked him out. Charlie later said he hadn't heard the bell because of the noise of the crowd, but the little Metis battler was well past his best. Vinciquerra's early rush often left him open and he got dumped a few times in the first round because of it.
