Before I get to the magazine cover, allow me to introduce tMBU to you. We are a
fictional, talent-only, writing league. Ours is a league with a rich history and an immersive atmosphere. While most of us are not Pulitzer quality, masters of prose, we all enjoy a good baseball article. This leads to an experience that goes beyond your typical OOTP online league, and gives our players, managers, and indeed our teams, their own flavors and personalities. So every GM knows that Mexico City's owner is crazy, that Georgia routinely has "the best team on paper", that San Diego is cursed and that Scotty Maine is a Hall of Fame caliber jerk. Here's a brief list of some of our features:
- entering our 13th season (in 2034), (over 2 years real time)
- Fictional Players
-
Talent only (much more of a challenge not seeing the ratings; that's right, REAL men play talent-only
)
- Player Agent (use this instead of OOTP - independent P.A. (no team of his own) acts in the best interest of his clients- he is fair minded and completely unbiased- players have much more realistic contracts with this system- it is more challenging to balance the financials- you will be very impressed)
- Active message boards
- Offseason Arizona Rookie League for rooks
- Japanese League (4-6 players migrate each offseason to tMBU from a separately run Japanese league that you can track the progress of- it is run by the Player Agent)
- Strong Governing Board
- Excellent Commish
- $90 mil salary cap, $15 mil cash max
- Participation Point System (minimum requirements for each season- easily reached by writing a few short articles over the season)
- Scout-a-Prospect Feature (you get to name your own prospect to be drafted in the 8th round of each season - you can improve his odds of becoming a major leaguer by spending the part points you have earned)
- tMBU Tonight Writers like - Tom Glavine, Jim Rome, Jayson Stark and John Donovan add their spin to league happenings
-
tMBU Illustrated covers
-
Catobase History
- special "live" sims throughout season and playoffs
Check out the
Constitution for
all the special features offered by this great league.
We are looking for someone to take over the
Windsor Mudhens. The Mudhens are coming off one of their worst seasons, but led by 23 year old sensation
Mo Fo still have some talent.
Now about the magazine cover. tMBU Illustrated (linked above) has agreed to feature the new Windor owner on the cover of the next issue (if he so chooses). That's right, you can be immortalized on the cover of tMBU's premiere periodical, all you have to do is join now and enjoy your 15 minutes of fame.
Essentially what we're looking for is not only good baseball managers but people who can fill these positions and add to our community. If this at all interests you, stop by our
message boards and introduce yourself.
