I don't really see a problem with it, but I think it would be courteous if the individual told the Commish up front that he was going to try the league out and if it didn't suit him, he'd probably leave. Depending on the pace of the league, I think it wouldn't hurt to stay for at least a full season or if you joined during a season stay until it ends.
