The Universe of Leather Boxing Association has announced the fight cards for October, and there are a couple of very exciting matches.

PITTSBURGH - Forbes Field hosts what promises to be an intriguing contest between #3 ranked Frank Slavin 23-3-0 (16) and undefeated, highly regarded #20 Chet Shandel 22-0-1 (12). Slavin had the choice between a couple of other matches, but chose Shandel, who is fresh off of an impressive victory over Duncan McDonald last month.

On the undercard, undefeated top contender #15 Dominic McCaffrey 23-0-0 (10) continues his quest to crack the top 10 as he duels #58 Jack Welsh 20-2-0 (2); crowd favorite #19 Jake Kilrain 20-3-1 (2) faces #23 Fred Crossley 19-3-0 (10); and #30 Tom Allen 22-1-0 (12) squares off against #38 Al Greenfield 18-4-1 (8).

VANCOUVER - Vancouver's Exhibition Gardens welcomes #2 in the world John C. Heenan 26-1-0 (23) in a feature match against #61 Sailor Charles Brown 19-3-0 (3).

On the undercard, #6 ranked Bill Bradburn 23-1-0 (9) will meet #21 Billy Keough 21-1-0 (15); #29 Joe Choynski 20-2-1 (10) faces #48 Australian Billy Smith 16-2-4 (7); and #44 Jack McAuley 20-3-1 (3) vs. Steve Taylor 19-2-1 (4).

SCAMMON, KS - Ninth ranked heavyweight Peter Jackson 23-1-0 (10) headlines the Main Event against #27 Toxie Hall 21-1-2 (1). Jackson hopes to continue his march to the top of the UoLBA, while a win for Hall would bring him instant respectability.

On the undercard, #5 Tommy Chandler 22-1-2 (14) meets #37 Morris Grant 20-2-0 (9); #45 Joe Goddard 21-2-0 (10) faces #47 Mervine Thompson 21-2-0 (12); and #59 Mike Conley 12-4-6 squares off against #185 Bill Partridge 2-15-6.
