It looks like the option to type is also there, but it's hard to tell. I think the buttons are just a way to make the difference per year somewhat easier (if I want to offer him on average 10 mil per year, I can put in 10 mil in all of them, then can stagger it by pressing the -whatever button for the first year and the +whatever button on the last, for example).
Overall, I like them screenies.
