I always liked Curt. When I came to Canada in 1966, I knew nothing about Baseball. I didn't start watching much until 1969 probably because of the Expos. From then through the 1970's I watched The Game Of The Week religiously. I can't remember why but I made a cassette recording of the All Star Game, 1971 in Detroit. Reggie Jackson hit a monster shot off the lights on the roof of Tiger Stadium. Gowdy's call was something like, "there's a shot, way way back, it's... ... off the roof!
Good broadcaster. He did the Heidi Game in 1968. I watched that but again not understanding American Football, I didn't understand the fuss until years later.
