the last fight card in my universe had the main bout of Joe Coburn vs Jack Root. Root came into the fight ranked 33 and Coburn was 7th.
Before the fight you got the feeling that this was a big opportunity for Root. Unlike the old ranking system where if he had won he'd be ranked 25th and Coburn would be 10th. This new system gives you a feeling like this is a make or break fight, the fighters one chance to get into the mix. Root won and moved to 15th, Coburn dropped to 16th.
Made the fight seem important if to no one else other than me  |
Using that as an example shows how much of an improvement the new system is.
