Luke Easter really gets screwed by circumstance. He was in his mid thirties when he was a 'rookie' and slugged .481 over four years. By age forty he was back in the minors tearing it up against very good competition for another half of a decade. He is said to have hit the first ball into the Polo Grounds center field bleachers and smashed a 477 footer at Cleveland Municipal.
One of those guys that you can only wonder what could have been with a full MLB career.
In his only three full MLB seasons 1950-1953:
AB/HR/RBI/BA/OBA/SLG
540/107/28/280/373/487
486/103/27/270/333/481
437/97/31/263/337/513
And that aged 34-36! (broke in as a 'rookie' in '49 at 33)
