Update/Bump

Still several teams open in the Suicide Squeeze Baseball league: Pittsburgh, Detroit, Washington and Baltimore. We're just about to pass the trade deadline of the 2007 season.

Quick rundowns:

Pittsburgh: The upside of this team is definitely it's up and coming talent. The number of good minors prospects is in the double digits. Currently the team is 53-55 on the season, and just needs a patient hand.

Detroit: A huge surprise when the last owner left, after being a charter member of the league, which started in the days of OOTP2. The team is currently 55-51, 7 1/2 games out of the AL Wildcard. The minors are nothing to write home about, but the MLB roster is pretty good. With an arm or two in the bullpen and a little more power in the line-up this team could be back in contention, FAST!

Washington DC: Currently 48-59, but has only two real weaknesses. Contact hitting, and yet another team that needs some bullpen help. Half a dozen good prospects in the minors.

Baltimore: 58-49, 5 games back of the AL Wildcard. The Orioles are easily the best NOW team available. If the next owner can add an ace to this club, and knock the other starters down a notch in the rotation I'd put money on seeing the Orioles in the 2008 SSBL playoffs for years to come, as their farm system is pretty stocked as well.

Please email Derek Sweger if you're interested.
