I started playing with OOTP4, and quickly got my brother hooked. We are both decendents of Sierra's FPS Baseball. My brother actually printed everything out with that league and kept it in a binder so he could go back and look at stats, etc.
Now, I buy him each new verstion of OOTP for his birthday, and we talk about players non stop. He'll ask me about trades he's thinking of making, etc. I normally tell him about great seasons my players are having, then we compare stats.
As is the general concensus, my wife is not enthused about the game, but I try to keep the playing time reasonable. It's only when a new game comes out and I set up new leagues and stuff that I am sometimes less available than she'd like.
