I'm not sure what my wife thinks. I haven't seen her in the past 2 months or so, because I can't get her to stop playing Civ IV.

I have a buddy that I grew up with who pretty much has the exact same nerdy tendencies and love for stats-mongering as I do, so I am at least able to share the fetish without fear.

Personally, I don't see the problem, as long as you're not shirking your responsibilities to your family. I mean, would she rather have a husband who crunches numbers into the wee hours trying to find that hidden gem, or one who goes out with his buddies to get wasted every other night, even when he's 25, 30, 35, 40 years old? For me, at least, that would be a no-brainer. Which of those is "stupider"??
