CHICAGO - Soldier Field's highly-anticipated Main Event between #1 ranked slugger John C. Heenan and Australian HW contender Frank Slavin did not live up to its billing. Seemingly an even match on paper, Frank Slavin didn't prove up to the task, tasting the canvas four times in the match, and dropping an unanimous decision to the impressive Heenan.

In the undercard, Sailor Charlie Smith proved no match for Irishman John Morrissey, who floored Smith 3 times, the third depositing Smith on the canvas for the ten-count with :52 left in the third round.
