For all the years I did TotalMinors, all I asked was that people acknowledged they were basing their work off of mine. From that point, they were pretty much free to do what they wanted, and I fully expected it because after the countless hours it took to do TotalMinors in the detail I did (and just because because I think it's silly) I had no inclination to update rosters throughout the season. Why should you start a season with a player your team didn't really acquire until July? So other guys - be it my work for High Heat, OOTP or MVP - always took my work and made changes, then posted it. Some gave the credit they should have, most didn't until I called them on it. But eventually you just learn to accept it.

Credit should be given to whoever you base the set off. It should be part of the readme file. It needn't be a ass-kissing festival, but it certainly should be included prominently as common courtesy.

The whole "from scratch" thing I find a bit silly...why retype names and re-enter positions, etc. Adding time-consuming things That serves nobody, so I've always found the "from scratch" thing a bit of garbage to harp on, but that's just me.

Just use your head and have some courtesy...it's really pretty basic.

Good luck with your projects.
