If he is on your 40 man roster (he must be as you can't have a player with a major league contract in the minors w/o taking a 40 man spot) and has agreed to an extension than he will get a minor league contract when the season flips. If you were to have this player on your 25 man roster he would get a $300,000 contract (the game would give him the minor league contract but since he was on the 25 man roster he would get the minimum). In either case he doesn't get arbitration.
