The problem is that the AI does not have the ability to do what you do. That results in an advantage for the player in solo play, especially as the years progress.

If the Rolen's minor league roster is full, then one workaround would be to set the amatuer draft to only 1 or 2 rounds. At least this will help manage the numbers early on.
