If we go by heritage, there are no set values. I consider myself of Canadian heritage - not French. But, even if you want to claim that I am of French heritage because 500 years ago my ancestors lived in France, well, why not say that I am of Middle Eastern heritage because my ancestors lived there 10,000 years ago?
