Good memory, Matt.
Rome fired me after 11 glorious (

) seasons. Then, after a season or two wandering in the wilderness, I hooked up with Sao Paulo.
My first full season in Brazil, I went all-out to upgrade a very sorry (5-plus ERA) pitching staff. A key part of that plan was drafting Wox, a real fireballer who was major-league ready, with the No. 3 pick.
Wox never threw a pitch in the minor leagues, going straight into my rotation. Unfortunately, he faced (and retired) just one batter before succumbing to an SEI, taking my 2015 season with him.
He's come back in fine form, though: a nice 45-31, 3.71, career so far, and just extended for $7 mil a year. I think the best is yet to come.
He's named, by the way, after George Washington. Brazilian names are fun.
