I have Football Manager 2005, and if 2006 is an improvement over the old version (and since it's a SI game, this is likely), this is about as close to an uncontestable truth as you're going to get in these matters.
My personal favorite is NHL EHM Hockey Manager 2005; what it loses in not having all the advanced features FM 2005 has, it wins back with interest by being
hockey.
