Does # of years in career matter?

When importing a player from a DB, does the number of years a player played affect anything? That is, does a shorter/longer real-life career impact ratings or sim-lifespan in any way? Has anyone seen any impact with historical imports?

I would test this but I don't have access to PC for the week. For instance, do players with longer real-life careers last longer in OOTP sim-life? I believe OOTP aging is not impacted by the underlying number of years played in one's career, but I never really studied it. I do recall Bonds retiring well before the age of 40 in one of my historical sims, but that is a sample of one. Cobb lasted forever in one of my sims too. However, there were other players who had OOTP careers considerably shorter or longer than they had in real life.
