My "son" entered the game as a 4.5 star prospect pitcher. He was drafted well before my turn came up. He gets called up almost immediately, and the team that has him won't trade him for anything remotely resembling reality. He proceeds to throw a one-hitter against my team in the middle of our playoff run. We end up with the wildcard, one game back of the division winner, and lose the opening series in the deciding game on the road.
Next season comes around and I find he's been traded. His new team is willing to trade him in a reasonable deal, so I go for it. Mid-August he gets a career ending injury, and the very next season one of the bats I traded for him has an outrageous season and wins batter of the year.
