1902 World Championship
Buffalo vs Atlanta
Atlanta is led by ROTY candidate 1B Stan "The Man" Musial (.378, 5 HR, 117 RBI) and LF Ted Williams (.413, 10 HR, 103 RBI). They had 3 .400 hitters and were third overall in the league in hitting. They also had the second best pitching staff in the majors, led by Joe Bowman (22-11, 4.06, 108 K) and Jake Wade (19-10, 3.90, 76 K).
Buffalo was actually first in the league in hitting, despite having no .400 hitters. LF Carlos Lee (.389, 5 HR, 109 RBI) paced the offense, but was backed up by 1B Jose Morales (.385, 1 HR, 96 RBI) and C Carl Sawatski (.324, 4 HR, 89 RBI). Their pitching staff was weak (5.57 ERA), but was led by Gerry Staley (21-12, 5.44, 73 K).
Buffalo's offense (1st in runs) isn't enough to overcompensate for it's horrible pitching staff. I say Atlanta in 4 games (3-1).
