After filling our previous 1949-1950 offseason vacancies, one of our best GMs had to step down due to schooling obligations. This leaves the excellent
Albany franchise available in ELSA.
The ELSA has just finished its 5th season with GM control and is moving on to the 1950's!
Albany finished 1949 at 89-49, the second best record in the league. They won the 1948 Class A Championship. They also made a playoff appearance in 1946 and haven't had a losing record since 1941. They have $5.7M available for the Free Agent signing period going on right now and their only needs are a starter and a couple of outfielders.
They are drafting 15th in the current draft and their farm system is 11th out of 16. They boast an absolutely awesome talent in first baseman
Thomas Adams. Adams won the Eastern League Munson Award (Top hitter) in each of the last 4 seasons and has won back-to-back triple crowns.
In 1949 he batted .403, setting a league record, while hitting 43 homeruns and 135 RBI (also a league record). He is only 29 and is signed through 1956 to a great contract. You can build around this guy and be competitive every year while you lead him to the Hall of Fame.
We have started the Free Agent signing period. Days 6-10 are going to be held tomorrow night. This league is great for those who still prefer OOTP5!
