Yeah? Well, that makes two of us except I've been here everyday. My thoughts:

The resulting lalltrans2.txt will need to be renamed ltans.txt -- details:

Frankly, I just don't know now how the current version of LA's Catofix is handling the mid-season retirement issue. In fact, one of the racing thoughts I've had recently wondered -- if it does address it -- in what order it does, given that there is a replacement of r with p going on and you would want the r in place, I think, to notify you of any after-r signings.

If you are nowhere near season's end, maybe just waiting to see how and if Markus handles it is in order. If you are at your season's end and want to proceed, I'd probably just use LA's Catofix2 and double-check manually to verify that IF you had any mid-season retirees that "were" signed by new teams, they have a release line preceeding that signing. Beyond that, I believe you're good to go. You might recall this comment as you consider that:

When the player signs, and you change that r to a p, his history will only show as him being with NY for that season. A release line is needed just prior to this signing transaction showing him released from the team he retired from.
If a player just retires and doesn't resign with anyone, there is no need to add another player release line.
If you're inclined to manually implement every step, then you still can. It's a 20-30 minute task but you'll be hands-on and a bit more certain of what you've done, not done, and why. Personally, I'm back to square one as I'm starting a league over instead of evaluating this one -- but that's due to other issues, not this one.
