Umm, no other teams have revenues as high as the Yankees. Do you think small market teams have local covergae like the Yankees do? The Yankees have their own network for crying out loud. Do the Reds even have a local contract that has games on daily? Does Cincinnatti have the same population to draw from as the NY Metro area?

I see your point about putting everything back into the franchise but if the Reds tried to operate with a $215M payroll they'd be out of business after the first year whether they won a championship or not.
