Some other team is going to get themselvs a fine manager in Jim Tracy.
I liked Jim Tracy too. For all his self-interviewing, the man was an interesting character and he managed to get the job done in LA.

But for those blaming Depo, from reading the article it sounds like Tracy wanted out too and it was he who opted out of his extension (he had a 7 day window to opt out of the extension after the season ended, which started today, monday). The fact he opted out so quickly just goes to show his mind was already made up.

That's not to say i'm not holding Depo partly responsible for this, it certainly comes off as if Depo's drove him out of town. I've also been hearing Orel's name as a likely candidate to replace Tracy, i don't think it'll happen. Orel's another old-school guy who doesn't do things a la SABR.

I wouldn't be too optimistic about Orel becoming manager either. the only experience i know of he has coaching is the pitching coach job with the rangers. I'm not convinced i'm sorry.
