At some point I'll try to write short snips on the lost info, for now let's continue with 1960:
1960 All-Star Game
Candlestick Park, San Francisco
BOX SCORE
This game began as a pitchers' duel as neither team scored a run through the first 6 innings. In the top of the 7th, Tigers 3B
Larry Long broke the scoreless tie with a pinch hit solo HR of Cardinals pitcher
Frank Abbott. In the bottom of the inning, the NL knotted the score back up . Dodger
Brett Evans led off with a pinch hit single off Kansas City's
Martin Gwaltney. Pirates catcher
Doug Provenzano bunted him to 2nd. A ground out moved Evans to 3rd, and he scored on a single by teammate
Roger Joyce to make the score 1-1.
The game remained tied after 9 innings despite both teams getting several runners on base. In the bottom of the 11th, the NL had runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. Baltimore's
John Nolting struck out Giants outfielder
Matt Praks. Then Joyce hit a ball toward the hole but Oriole
David Lawrence, a first baseman forced into action at shortstop, showed some range by going to his right and throwing Joyce out at 1st for out 3.
In the bottom of the 12th, Nolting entered his 3rd inning of work. After recording the 1st two outs, he gave a up a single to Dodger
Leo Emig, who had played both RF and 1B in the game. Emig stole second and Giants CF
Jed Williams drew an unintentional intentional walk to set up a potential force out at 1st, 2nd or 3rd. Giants 3B
Ike Walker then hit a single to LF and Emig raced around third to score the winning run.
